Rachel Michael, LPCC

I view therapy as a collaborative process that helps individuals and families move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and resilience. My goal is to create a supportive and structured environment where clients feel understood while learning practical tools to manage life’s challenges.

I work primarily with adolescents and families experiencing anxiety and mood-related concerns, including social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), generalized anxiety, school avoidance, and depression. Treatment begins with a careful evaluation so we can understand the full picture of an adolescent’s symptoms, strengths, and environment. From there, we develop a collaborative treatment plan that focuses on helping teens gradually face fears, build confidence, and return to the activities and relationships that matter most to them.

Therapist (she/her)

My approach integrates several evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I work closely with both adolescents and parents, helping families develop strategies to improve communication, strengthen relationships, and respond effectively to anxiety-driven behaviors such as avoidance or compulsions. I have a particular interest in supporting families who are navigating the frustration and stress that often accompany school avoidance, OCD symptoms, and social withdrawal.

I earned my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2017 and am an independently licensed professional clinical counselor in the state of Ohio.

Outside of the counseling office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and young daughter. I also enjoy long-distance running, reading historical fiction, and participating in activities at my church.
